Ian Clendening is the Deputy Secretary-Treasurer with the City of Kingston where he also serves as one of the City's Senior Planners. Prior to joining the City of Kingston, Ian worked with a smaller rural municipality in Ontario's "cottage country" as that municipality's Secretary-Treasurer and Planner. Ian has been a planner for more than ten years in both the private and public sector, including working with lower and upper-tier municipalities and a Conservation Authority. Through these roles, Ian has gained a broad command over a variety of legislation and is familiar with the tools afforded, and responsibilities imposed, on municipalities pursuant to the Planning Act, Municipal Act, Conservation Authorities Act, Drainage Act, Clean Water Act, Environmental Assessment Act and many others.
